A total delight. There is nothing to ask for - Jenny thinks of everything. This is the most relaxing & charming place to spend a few days - the luxury of a first class hotel and the warmth and comfort of home. Thanks you

About Hilda

You may choose to board the train... or step back in time and relax.

Hilda started her grand journey in 1897 as a luxury Pullman car, or sleeping car to you and me. All Pullman cars consisted of wooden bodies until 1928, replacing the Clestory type cars, which were used until 1908.

She would regularly run on the Southern Railway, often carrying passengers of status and nobility, including members of the Royal family. Just like the Titanic, which was engineered in the same era, Hilda and other carriages of a similar specification to those used on the Orient Express were designed to offer passengers unrivalled luxury and comfort.

Moved to her current position in 1932, Hilda has received extensive restoration work over the years to achieve the exceptional standards that can only be truly appreciated by spending time at Jenny's luxury bed and breakfast near Chichester.

All rooms have double-aspect views of either the sea or the garden in the rear.

Not only does Hilda feature a spacious double bedroom, a large lounge and a luxury bathroom but she also offers fantastic double-aspect views, overlooking the sea on one side and the gardens on the other. Read more about our facilities.

Whether you would prefer to wake up to the murmur of lapping waves and scenes of shimmering shingle or you would love to open your curtains to our lush gardens, Hilda has a view for you.

She is situated in Selsey on the south coast overlooking the idyllic beach. The sunrise and sunsets are absolutely spectacular here so why not wake up with and go to bed with Hilda? Read more about our stunning scenery.
